If we are providing a login/password to access it, can we assume it's a secure (not open) connection?
I ask because optimum WiFi is an open connection, even though login and password are required.
Thanks.

Hello.
I was in a L.A. Japanese restaurant and noticed on my old iPhone 4S with its iOS v8.3 on TWC's CableWiFi. I tried to connect to it, but it failed quickly (unable to connect or something like that rrror). How come? Its signal strength was strong too.
Thank you in advance.
Hi
Anyone using iPhone 6 with iOS 8.0 and above having issue with TWC Wifi Finder?
1) When trying to install the profile, it say unable to verify profile
2) After things get installed, I can't seem to connect to any wifi. I was at Chicago Airport and there was a BIONGO service I was unable to use.
All I see in the WIFI connect was WIFI Passport Secure, but still showing LTE connection.
Just curious, Is Boingo still a partner with Time Warner Cable for wifi hot spots, they do not show up on the coverage map like they used to?
Thanks.
Login screen doesn't give the save and cancel blue buttons. I had no problem with the wifi finder app on LG G2 phone. I think it may be the tablet is either not compatible or its a setting that needs to be changed. emailed with twc, quick response but no fix, so they told me to call 888-851-9530 . Just got off phone with them, still no resolution. They will escalate, in the meantime they gave me the number for LG.
Windows 7
Wireless popup message as the modem attemps to access the wireless signal at mutiple locations around town:
The server “aaa.twcwife.com” presented a valid certificate issues by VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority – G5”. But “VeriSign Class 3 Public Primary Certification Authority – G5” is not configured as a valid trust anchor for this profile.
Can one obtain this certificate?
Thanks.
Have Earthlink Extreme. It's not on the list of plans that are NOT eligible for TWC Wifi at no additional charge. But, when trying to sign on, it says me ID/Password is invalid(Using the same to get on here). I have tried many times. Any help is appreciated.
Has anyone had success connecting any Android Wear smart watch to a "TWCWiFi-Passpoint" access point? I can connect to TWCWiFi but for some reason can't even see the Passpoint SSID. I spoke to TWC technical support and they said that smart watches are not officially supported yet (mine is a Moto 360) but that TWCWiFi-Passpoint should be visible on both 2.4GHz and 5 GHz bands so I don't know why I can't even see the SSID.
I'm not sure that either will actually work for getting notices and updates on the watch since according to this article the Android Wear WiFi interface doesn't support "captive" connections:

check out zip code 91776.
There's a large stretch of commercial district (markets, restaurants, etc) in this area near the I-10, but no hotspots.
How can we get hotspots out there?
Are most hotspots run by regular customers like you and me?
I want to test twc id of additional user.
After I logged into a hotspot last week, any hotspot no longer asks me to login. I do not get the hotspot welcome page anymore. It just connects directly to the internet.
How do I make the hotspots forget my phone so that I can use another twc id to login?
I am unable to setup tags in twc wifi finder, I see the edit button in settings screen. I can click on and off auto-connect. I click on edit and nothing happens. This is happening on my Samsung Tab 4 and Note 4. Any ideas?
I've been trying to register one of our phones for days now and all I get is that the page is unavailable.
If anyonw can tell me twc doen;t help.
I'm on assignment and the workplace has no internet access. At my desk I have a very low level signal to a TWCWIFI access point and it cuts in and out all day long.
I would like to install a Netgear Access Point and place the antenna on the roof of the trailer to get better reception but I can't get the Access Point to connect to the TWCWIFI endpoint.
Has anyone been successful in doing this type of setup where you use an Access Point in Client Mode and then run an ethernet cable from the AP to the laptop/computer?
Hi - Is there any other app that I can use to be able to access WiFi. I only have 100mb on my phone to begin with and there is now only like 12mb free. (unbranded Android KitKat) I am unable to install the TWC WiFi app. because it wants to take up so much space that i just don't have. Is there a much smaller version that I can get? Will any WiFi app work? There are lots of WiFi apps--with much smaller footprints--but is it possible to use other ones to sign into a TWC WiFi hotspot?
Thank you.
p.s.- I already know my phone is just about worthless, but it is the only one that I have for now!
I have been trying for weeks to use TWC's passpoint hotspots, and they never connect. CableWifi, TWCWifi, and TWCWifi-Passpoint will not let me connect with my iPhone 6 (iOS 9.1 beta). Don't tell me it's because I'm on beta.
I've tried using the Wifi finder app to download the passpoint profile; that doesn't help. I've tried deleting the profile and logging into the secure passpoint with my twc id/pass, that doesn't work. I don't get any errors, it just times out and won't connect.
I have standard internet, but my MyWiFi page says "you need standard internet to use these passpoints". I saw another post on here somewhere about people who have higher teirs who are having trouble connecting, also, so I wonder if that's the problem.
I just spoke with an incompetent chat agent who kept telling me to "reboot my device" and "try connecting again", and that "wifi hotspots are designed for specific devices only" (really??? wtf is that???).
I can't connect at any passpoint location, so it's not an isolated issue; it's either my account somehow or it's TWC passpoints.
